Challenger
Our Story
Founded by a group of Economics students at the University of St Andrews, Challenger seeks to bring together like-minded students through an interest in financial technology (fintech). While our specific interests cover more of a spectrum from technology to finance, we are all united in our willingness to push boundaries and desire to create something new.

As St Andrews' premier Fintech Society, Challenger aims to bring together students interested in this exciting industry as well as expose them to leaders from top companies in the space. We will host guest speakers, networking events, and dinners to bring together people with a shared passion for innovation.

Challenging The Norms
Fintech companies have created their own markets by unbundling traditional firms' offerings. These 'challenger banks' disrupt the big banks as they use technology to expand financial inclusion and lower operating costs. Challenger St Andrews is founded on these ideals of finding new opportunities for efficiency and innovation in established systems.

Fintech exemplifies how new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be employed to better our lives and marketplaces. This is one of the reasons why fintech has piqued our interest, with the industry constantly keeping people on the edge of their seats waiting to see how the next innovation will revolutionize the way we spend.
